To inform its development of a policy statement on the issue of gender equity in medicine, Doctors of BC’s Council on Health Economics and Policy (CHEP), a standing committee of the Board of Directors, went through two phases of member engagement to seek physician input to inform its work.
Phase 1 (in June 2021) sought input on identified focus areas for policy consideration. Phase 2 (in September 2022) we sought further physician input, before the statement was finalized, on the draft commitments and recommendations to ensure these reflected member perspectives.
