Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) and College Bylaws Consultation

Since April, Doctors of BC has asked for your input on our advocacy with government on the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA) and four successive rounds of BC College of Physicians and Surgeons’ bylaws that will put the legislation into action. (See Timeline in sidebar for more information.)


College Bylaws

We used what you told us to guide development of a collective response to the College on its draft bylaws and recently invited you to review our draft submission to tell us if it hits the mark and reflects your concerns..The opportunity for input on our draft submission to the College closed on August 24, 2025.

Your input will support the Council on Health Economics and Policy (CHEP)—the advisory body to the Board on this work—to finalize our response, which we'll submit to the College by its August 31, 2025 deadline.
