RA Input on Future Meeting Topics

What is top of mind for you?

RA members always have the option to share suggestions for potential topics for discussion at future RA meetings via that RA Speaker's inbox.

Building on sessions at the February and May 2025 RA meetings dedicated to hearing from you on proposed topics, you can now also share your ideas here.

The RA Planning Group will review and assess all suggestions as part of the next rounds of RA meeting planning.

Topic Criteria

RA meeting agendas are developed with Doctors of BC’s strategic objectives and direction in mind. Specifically, topics that clearly align with and advance work targeted at one or more of the four priorities in Doctors of BC’s 2024-2029 Strategic Plan are prioritized.

Additionally, potential topics are evaluated for their fit with:

  • Association Mandate – is the topic or issue something within the Doctors of BC’s mandate, and is it actionable by Doctors of BC (vs. being within the purview and influence of other organizations like the College, the Ministry of Health)?
  • RA Mandate – is the topic or issue best-suited for RA discussion and input (vs. another group like one of the statutory committees or the joint collaborative committees)? How are the RA’s unique attributes being utilized?
  • Impact – will RA discussion on the topic or issue lead to demonstrable outcomes?
  • Timeliness – is there a strategic opportunity to discuss the topic or issue at the RA right now, or would the item be more impactful at a different time?
  • Breadth of Relevance – is the topic relevant to, and does it reflect issues and concerns of the broader Doctors of BC membership?
  • Balance – how does the topic or issue fit with the other planned agenda items, in terms of substance, format and time requirements?
